Engage: Every team member is accountable on every level; from their work, tasks, clients and actions. Our community is based on trust, integrity and support.
Open: Our team practices the miracles of openness in a supportive and sharing environment. By sharing each others views, ideas, and challenges we continue to evolve as a healthy community.
Attraction: The Law of Attraction says people's thoughts (both conscious and unconscious) dictate the reality of their lives. In other words, what we focus on is what we get. We continually focus on what we really do want not what we don’t want. This continually brings us into living the lives we truly want.
Respect: Respecting each others views, values and unique qualities our team practices heartfelt human relations that flow onto our clients.
A note from our directors Tim and Beau
From the raising of your arms and hands, the rhythm of your breath to the rhythmic swaying of your body, drumming offers a full mind, body and soulful experience. When we beat a drum we align ourselves to the present moment. When we do it in a group we align as one. It is here that we can truly find ourselves...and why not have a lot of FUN doing it! After all life is to be enjoyed.
Our aim is to bring awareness to groups of people that true wealth and power lies in the fact that we are all connected. In this knowledge we can make great things happen. Our aim is to create empowered, connected and awakened people and communities.
By showing that we are all connected, through the simply powerful experience of being in rhythm, we see that what we do individually affects everyone and every living thing around us. When we truly realise that we are all connected, we can make life changes that support sustainability…in people, in companies and in turn help create a sustainable world. By encouraging this realisation in individuals it flows that companies and communities will benefit greatly...building healthy communities.

Jac is at the heart of InRhythm as the head of our community courses and events. With an envious calmness and ease, she manages a group of highly creative individuals. It’s her integrity, trust, people skills and an ability to make the most out of any situation that makes this happen. She has developed an intense love of rhythm and the way diverse cultures have made drumming and percussion an integral part of their life. Coming from a community legal background, Jac realises how big the impact is when society gets out of sync with its own rhythms. Jac is getting herself "in rhythm" and guiding other people to do the same!
Kate's worked on 2 wheels in grease pits, on 4 wheels in drag pits, on prawn trawlers in the tropics and on open wounds in operating theatres. Through world travel and time, Kate's discovered the best things in life: laughter, love and of course drumming!
Rhythm is the food for the soul. Ben's been drumming for 15yrs and can
never get enough. He has found a warmth in African drumming and in
the people that it seems to attract that is unique to it's form. Ben loves
rhythm, lives to study it and feels blessed to find InRhythm,
who have given him a place to share his joy with a great cross section of community.
Many years ago Michele's life went down two concurrent paths: one, a successful corporate career, and the other, into the rhythmical world of percussion. Michele has an enthusiasm to teach and share her love of music with others. Her passion for percussion has drawn her to the African beats of the djembe, the powerful sounds of Japan on the taiko, and the pulsing sounds of Cuba and Brazil. Michele is thrilled to be involved with InRhythm because it gives her the opportunity to create an atmosphere where people can come together to enjoy the many benefits that drumming brings.
Yani's passion was drummed into him at an early age. His
father and grandfather were drummers in the Greek tradition, so with a
lineage like that it was inevitable Yani would follow in their
footsteps. He began playing the Greek drum at 10 and in his high school years became a drummer in a band. But it wasn't until he was in his early 20s that he graduated to the djembe - a traditional drum from West Africa. "I
used to fiddle around with it until I went and listened to an African
man transform it into one of the most unbelievable musical experiences
of my life," Yani said. Now a djembe virtuoso he shares his expertise with others.
Kimberley is living her life purpose through the power of Rhythm. She is an experienced facilitator & has worked in Learning & Development since 2000 across the banking, finance, call centre, non for profit and health & fitness industries. She studied as a primary school teacher in NZ and holds Certificate IV in workplace training and assessment. She is equally comfortable in a corporate or community environment and is inspired by the unique vitality and energy she has found through drumming.
"...music is as old as human beings. Our ancestors, who travelled from cave to cave, couldn't carry many things, but modern archaeology shows that, as well as the little they might have with them in the way of food, there was always a musical instrument in their baggage, usually a drum." - The Witch of Portobello by Paulo Coelho
Descendant from the nomadic Bedouin tribes Sal (Salama Salem) was born in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, Africa. Born into the rhythm of drums she resonated and was instantly drawn to the InRhythm circle. A fascination and curiosity with music, she loves to learn all things and teach that which has become ingrained. Interweaving many varied vocations from DJ/MCing, hosting trivia to a BridgeClimb tour guide and tarot reading she aspires to serve, entertain and provide joy in peoples lives. She loves to surf, drum, travel and rock out in general.
Jean-Jacques has a passion for hand drumming and all African
Music. He has a special connection with music from Mali
where his wife Francoise comes from. He met his djembe master Mohamed Bangoura
in 1999 and has studied in Guinea West Africa. "People ask me why I still
go regularly to Mohamed's classes after all these years (haven't missed an
Easter workshop at Glenrock near Newcastle)
my answer is : not to play so much as to listen. The Africans don't hear the
music the way we Westerners do and it takes a long time to train the ear to
"listen the African way" and then translate that on the drum. This is
my life time commitment and I’m enjoying every second of it."
A young singer, songwriter, cabaret performer and member of the Adelaide African drumming ensemble 'Punk Tulle', Anya McNicol-Windram is wildly creative, and absolutely passionate about sharing her enthusiasm for music and rhythm. In 2006 Anya organised and conducted drumming workshops with young migrants and refugees, along with people from the established wider community to help new arrivals connect with people and activities happening in the area. Since then she has been a true believer in the community building capacity of the drumming circle. She now continues to work in schools and other community groups. The driving force behind 'Bird Wizdom & the Eclectic Collective' she also runs outlandish cabaret shows that have an emphasis on diversity, originality and inclusion...music music music.
