InRhythm Drumming Classes Hit South Australia by beau

Hello community,

Due to the popularity of the recent drumming classes in South Australia, InRhythm will be setting off again to Adelaide  as part of their national tour offering a broad cross section of the local community the opportunity to engage with one another, in rhythm, on the African Drums.

“We are really keen to actually help communities create something that is sustainable and ongoing in their lives rather than just cruising through town and offering a one off session that is never followed up. The best way for us to do this is offer locals the opportunity to meet each other and hook up with like minded groups in their local area” Tim Orgias says.

Another big part of InRhythm’s mission on their two year trip around OZ is to help communities establish and/or grow a local, regular drumming scene where these social bonds can develop.

Drumming is also great if you’ve always fancied learning an instrument but don’t think you have any innate musical ability. No need to understand the complicated nuances of pitch, tone or key, and no need to master difficult fingering or strumming. Anyone who can count to four can participate in a drum session, and most drum courses are simply based on a system of call-and-response, with the facilitator beating out a simple rhythm for the class to repeat.
It’s far easier than you think to become proficient enough to join in a group jam, and if you do make a mistake, you can rest easy in the knowledge that you’ll be covered up by the sound of everyone else.

InRhythm will be running a series of 2 hour weekend workshops,  5 weekly workshops and drum making sessions in October and November 2010. FOr full details please go to:
